Small Cottage Bathroom Ideas
Blogger Myra's bathroom was far too dated for her taste. The My Blessed Life blogger recruited her husband and embarked on a DIY project to update the space with a cottage-style makeover.
With some subway tiling, a crisp marble sink counter top, and white board-and-batten siding on the walls, the bathroom instantly became a light and bright retreat. (A coat of Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter didn't hurt either!) Cheerful touches, such as fresh yellow flowers, an old clock, and distressed artwork also helped Myra perfectly channel that cozy, cottage feel. Because the bathroom will be primarily used by her young boys, Myra also added a wooden step stool by the sink so they'll be able to brush their teeth with ease. But our favorite part has to be the rich, wooden floors — actually the original main subfloors of the house. "We ran out of time to do the tiling work we had originally planned for the floor," writes Myra. "I swooned when we uncovered this floor with the fabulous painted slats." She plans to insulate under the wood floors in the future to keep the space warmer.
